A French playgroup made for young children
Our French playgroup gives preschool children a gentle, happy first contact with the language. Lessons feel playful, but every activity has a purpose: children hear French repeatedly, associate words with actions and objects, and begin to understand simple classroom routines.
- Small groups for children aged 3 to 6
- Native French-speaking teachers
- A calm rhythm with familiar routines
- No previous French required
Learning French through play, songs and stories
Young children learn best when language is connected to movement, sound and emotion. Each session mixes songs, picture books, games, role play, craft and sensory activities so children can recognise French words naturally before they are expected to produce them.
For beginners and French-speaking families
The class welcomes children discovering French for the first time, bilingual children and French-speaking families who want regular language exposure in Singapore. Teachers adapt the level of prompts so each child can participate, whether they answer in French, with gestures or through play.
What children practise in class
The focus is on useful early language: greetings, colours, numbers, animals, classroom words, simple instructions, feelings, family, food, seasons and everyday actions. Children also practise listening, turn-taking and confidence speaking in front of a small group.
- Bonjour, au revoir and polite classroom phrases
- Colours, numbers and familiar objects
- Songs with repeated vocabulary
- Simple questions and answers over time
A reassuring bridge to structured French classes
Regular exposure helps children develop pronunciation, listening confidence and positive feelings about French before moving into more structured primary-level children’s courses. Parents also get a clearer view of their child’s interest, readiness and preferred learning style.
