Choosing between Group Lessons and Individual Lessons

Experiencing Paris on our Little Red Dot

Ever since the COVID-19 travel restrictions, we have not had the same opportunity to explore new cultures. Today, we are going on an adventure to the world’s most romantic and coveted country in the world. What you are about to discover is not a substitute for the beautiful city of Paris. But this is probably the best we can do in times like this. So let’s attempt to experience Paris on our Little Red Dot. Food is at the core of every Singaporean and that is where our journey will begin. There is no pastry more infamous than the Croissant. Croissant is synonymous with French pastry. So we thought of sharing our recommendation for French Pastries approved by our lovely French friends!

Maison Kayser

Founded by Eric Kayser in 1996, Maison Kayser is an authentic artisanal French Bakery. There are 6 outlets for you to choose from, mainly congregating in the central part of Singapore. We suggest trying the Croissant, Sourdough and the variety of Tartine they offer. Just remember to say, bon appétit. Before digging into your scrumptious meal. Now onto some French-inspired activities. We would love to admire the Mona Lisa up close at the world’s largest art museum amongst other works of art. Prancing through the Louvre from masterpiece to masterpiece. But in reality, we are stranded on our little red dot. However, that will not stop us from experiencing the craft of French artists.

Cuturi Gallery

Head down to Cuturi Gallery to experience a solo exhibition in Singapore, by French artist Quentin Garel (b. 1975). The exhibition titled Anomal. Takes inspiration from the Greek word “anômalos” meaning unequal or irregular, it gives reference to abnormality. This exhibition is indeed filled with unique works that might leave you with a couple of unanswered questions. After exhausting your feet walking through the exhibitions. It is time to give them a rest and immerse in another form of art that requires minimal work. Unlike the prior exhibition which might be suitable for the family. The next work of art can be enjoyed by all. All you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy a French animated movie filled with adventure.

April and The Extraordinary World

Without giving away too many details, you will be taken on a journey through France together with Avril, her talking cat and Julius, a young street rascal. She is in search of her scientist parents, who mysteriously disappeared. She senses that things might not be as it seems and her parents’ disappearance might be a conspiracy. Determined to uncover the truth, she goes on an adventure with her friends. To cap the night off, how about some wine and a cheese board to be enjoyed in the comfort of your home! The beauty of these boards is their social aspect. It is meant to be shared with friends and family while you nibble, sip, talk, eat and drink. Probably a good activity to wind down with family and friends after a long action-packed day.

Celebrate Bastille Day – Bastille Wine Class

We have just the package in mind. Go on a journey to French Vineyard with Sommelier Stephanie Rigourd. At this online wine tasting event, you will gain knowledge and a better understanding of French wines Appellation and Grands Crus systems. As well as, appreciate a selection of cold cuts and cheese. This wine class will take place on 14 July, giving a special homage to Bastille Day, France’s National Day.This could be a fruitful day filled with activities one might indulge in Paris. We are sure that there are many more activities for you to discover to immerse yourself in the French Culture. Meanwhile, to prepare yourself for an experience of a lifetime in Paris, why not pick up the beautiful language of French? We assure you, picking up the language is going to be extremely handy when travelling to the beautiful city! Great news for you, we know a place that enables you to use your SkillFuture credits.

French Toast

An interesting fact about the French language is that a third of basic English words come from French. It is one of the top languages spoken across the entire globe and infamous for embodying sophistication and romance. All the more reasons to pick it up!The Business French Course is a beginner module, suitable for those with no experience with the language. This course will be 40 hours long, 2.5h every week for 16 weeks. Although the module focuses on job situations. The communication skills will help you when travelling to countries in Europe. If you are still uncertain about it, you can sign up for a Trial Lesson held every Sunday from 12PM to 1PM, more information can be found in the link. https://www.frenchtoast.sg/french-trial-class/ There is so much France has to offer even when we are not behind their borders. We cannot stop trying and learning the beauty of French culture. When the restrictions are lifted and we take all this knowledge we have and experience it first hand. It is going to make the trip all the more worthwhile. We hope you manage to catch a glimpse of France here in Singapore and we wish you safe travels when the restrictions have been lifted. Au revoir!
